READY TO WEAR ELASTIC COMPRESSION GARMENTS FOR UPPER EXTREMITY FOR DAY

Ready to wear circular knit elastic compression garments are prescribed for medical conditions such as vascular disorders, edema and lymphedema when the severity is mild to moderate, and measurements of the affected area fall within given guidelines for sizing. These garments should not be worn during sleep.

READY TO WEAR INELASTIC COMPRESSION GARMENTS FOR UPPER EXTREMITY

Inelastic garments are designed for more extreme edema, lymphedema, and ulcers. These products offer very little to no stretch. The compression therapy is delivered by the person conducting the application. The more tension that is applied, the greater the compression therapy. Most inelastic products come in the form of hook and loop wraps or short-stretch bandaging.

These products apply firm, consistent pressure to the area of need and have little to no stretch capability. Customizable compression is designed to meet specific needs of the wearer, available in the form of wearable wraps or compression systems. When dexterity is a concern, these products are ideal for those with limited grip strength. These garments can be adjusted with less compression for nighttime wear.

CUSTOM COMPRESSION GARMENTS FOR UPPER EXTREMITY FOR DAYTIME

When sizing or severity of the medical condition dictates that ready to wear garments are not appropriate, our certified fitters will measure for custom flat knit garments. These are available in many different styles, colors, designs and options. These garments should not be worn during sleep.

READY TO WEAR NIGHTTIME COMPRESSION GARMENTS FOR UPPER EXTREMITY

Normal elastic compression garments, while great for daytime wear, are not appropriate for sleep because they apply too much compression. This tight fit can cause harmful skin constrictions. While bandaging can be an option, it’s time-consuming and can leave you feeling frustrated if they are not applied properly. Not to mention, they are not exactly breathable, lightweight or flexible for sleep.

One of the most comfortable and effective ways to manage your lymphedema at night is with a quality compression foam sleeve. Compression garments with foam chips are nighttime garments that provide a gentle lymphatic massage. The foam pressed into the affected area creates tissue stretch and pressure differentials. A nighttime sleeve provides a gentler compression level in comparison to daytime garments, while also continuing to squeeze lymph out of affected tissues. This allows for more comfortable relaxation and prevents the limbs from swelling and reaccumulating fluid throughout your sleep. It is meant for patients who experience gradual “refilling” of affected areas during sleeping hours.

READY TO WEAR ELASTIC COMPRESSION GARMENTS FOR LOWER EXTREMITY

Ready-to-wear circular knit elastic compression garments are prescribed for medical conditions such as vascular disorders, edema, and lymphedema when the severity is mild to moderate, and measurements of the affected area fall within given guidelines for sizing.  These are designed to be worn during waking hours and should be removed when lying down or sleeping. Lower extremity garments include garments for the feet, legs and groin.
