Custom Mediven Flat Knit Gradient Compression Garments for Arm and Hand

When a patients measurements or severity of condition make ready to wear compression garments inappropriate, custom flat knit garments are often the best choice.

Mediven® flat-knit compression comes in a multitude of compression classes and containment levels, with several choices of fabric options, and color and pattern choices to provide the right product for each individual patient. These flat-knit products are custom made to a specific millimeter to fit each patient and their unique shape.

Custom flat-knit garments are primarily used during the maintenance phase of the lymphedema treatment process when patients have transitioned from the reduction phase to a stable volume level. When making a garment selection, a clinician must consider the following therapeutic needs of the individual patient:

  • Level of containment – the more robust or stiff the material, the more containment
  • Patient activity – some materials and features allow for more freedom of motion during activity
  • Application needs – making good style selections can influence patient compliance

From the strongest reliable hold to a lighter more discreet option, mediven has options for both lower and upper extremity needs, for primary and secondary lymphedema up to stage 3, and up to lipedema stage 3.

These garments require an experienced, certified fitter to evaluate, measure and fit to help determine the most appropriate fabric, compression and options for the patient’s condition, lifestyle and budget.
